Rumer Willis is just about to embark on her first extended musical outing with her band, with dates kicking off in Denver this week on October 12th at Ophelia's. Set to perform a chanteuse-style variety show of timeless standards ranging from cabaret and jazz to classic R&B and contemporary pop, not only is Willis setting the bar high for these upcoming performances, but she is also planning on getting the crowd involved in these intimate and personal performances. The tour, dubbed the Over The Love tour, chronicles the ups and downs of love and relationships, and what better way to prove that love and heartbreak do not discriminate than by inviting fans to come sing with her?

For this upcoming performance in Denver, Willis will be giving local singers the opportunity to sing during her show, by submitting a video of themselves singing and using the hashtag #SINGWITHRUE. But that's not the only thing that makes this show special - Willis will also be performing an array of cover songs as well as original material from her upcoming debut album. Read what the singer had to say about the upcoming show below!

Fans can purchase tickets for the Denver show at Ophelia's HERE and any other upcoming dates HERE.

The Prelude Press: You’re just about to kick off your first ever U.S. concert tour in Denver! What about these upcoming shows are you most excited for?

Rumer Willis: I'm most excited to travel around and meet the amazing people in every city.

Does it feel like this tour has been a long time coming? Is there anything you’re really nervous or anxious about?

As we come closer to kicking the tour off, I've just been feeling more and more excitement every day!

The Over The Love shows are very unique because of the cabaret-style performance. Can fans expect a much more intimate and personal setting than most other concerts?

Yes. Most Definitely.

You’ve also mentioned that the tour musicalizes the ups and downs of love and relationships, which I’m sure can make for a very emotional performance. Where did this idea for the theme of the tour come from?

Love is a universal struggle that doesn't discriminate. It has affected us all for better or worse.

What songs are you personally excited to perform?

All of them, honestly.

Who are some artists that have inspired you musically? Can we expect to hear covers of a few of their songs on these upcoming shows?

Etta James, Billy Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, Amy Winehouse, Patsy Cline and Adele, and yes, you may hear some of those ladies pop up in the set.

Alongside some covers, you’ll also be performing some original material as well! After these tour dates, can fans expect to hear some more new music from you soon?

Yes they can!

After the Over The Love tour wraps up in December, what is the rest of your year and beginning of 2017 looking like?

I have a few irons in the fire including the film of the musical Hello Again, the film What Lies Ahead, and of course my debut album.

Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you would like to add?

Yes, I'm inviting and local Denver singers the opportunity to sing during my show. If interested, they should submit a video of themselves on twitter or instagram, tag me and use the hastag #SINGWITHRUE
