Kuroma Announce "20+ Centuries EP", Stream "Twenty Centuries in Time" via PopMatters

Kuroma are not the sort of band that are content to ever sit around.  Following the release of their latest full length Kuromarama on Votiv Music in April, the band spent much of the spring and summer on the road with the likes of Ex Hex, Tennis and Tame Impala.  Now they're back again with a new EP, titled 20+ Centuries which arrives October 30, 2015 on Votiv Music.  Featuring the track "20+ Centuries" from Kuromarama, the EP includes a host of bonus material including two brand new tracks, a cover of the Breeder's "Divine Hammer" and a reworked version of "20+ Centuries" called "Twenty Centuries In Time" that PopMatters is sharing today, calling it "T. Rex-meets-Flaming Lips".

Listen to "Twenty Centuries In Time"

Kuroma came together out of the friendship of four individuals from different backgrounds and locations, united by their desire to make music with one another, common ideals, MGMT, Metallica concerts and…summer camp. The seeds of the band were first planted back at the tender age of eight when Camp Carolina talent show winners Hank Sullivant and James Richardson met and conquered with a fateful set of acoustic songs. They weren’t too shabby as a tandem whitewater paddling team either.

For their most recent LP Kuromarama, Sullivant recruited Richardson, as well as Simon O'Connor and Will Berman to round out the band, solidifying the line-up.  Produced by MGMT’s Ben Goldwasser between the band's hometowns of Brooklyn, NY and Athens, GA, Kuromarama is the result of a long road, and is a fully realized record carefully designed with subtle nuances, catchy hooks, garage rock abandonment and pure unadulterated pop splendor bursting throughout. This record isn’t quite the beginning, and it certainly marks the next chapter for Kuroma, a band with a long and winding history that remains driven and persistent throughout it all. Kuromarama is spreading!
