New England’s OFF & ON have debuted their new single “AIKT,” accompanied by its colorful and unique music video – which premiered yesterday exclusively at FUSE. In addition to releasing their new single, the band has also announced a new EP entitled Good Talk Vol. 2, set for release on May 12th on intheclouds Records. FUSE referred to the band as “a fresh face for the quirky, emotive stylings of New England’s underground scene,” and also compared the new single to the likes of Lightning Bolt, Piebald, and Self Defense Family.
The music video – reminiscent of 90s street art, and perhaps carrying an aesthetic similar to the hit TV show Broad City – was directed by Erik Rojas, whose name holds credits with artists like Ra Ra Riot, Dr. Dog, Transit, and Foreign Tongues. “I was struck by the track’s bouncy, playful feel,” says Erik on “AIKT.” “I felt like adding in wild colors and animations would compliment this, so that was the route I took. Over 3,500 frames of drawing later – this is the result!”
Good Talk Vol. 2 was produced by guitarist/vocalist Tim Landers, who created a small, efficient, and comfortable studio setup in his home – resulting in four new tracks. “’AIKT’ was the first step in getting deeper into our sound and musical progression,” says Landers. “When we wrote that song we felt creatively at our best. In the video, we tried to capture Off & On and our personalities in the realest form.”
Fans can pre-order Good Talk Vol. 2 from intheclouds Records HERE. The band will support the release with a handful of spring tour dates with The Box Tiger, which can be found below. For more information on Off & On, visit www.weareoffandon.com.
