Royal Thunder Stream New Album, Crooked Doors, via NPR

Royal Thunder is streaming their sophomore album, Crooked Doors (April 7, Relapse Records), via NPR (http://www.npr.org/2015/03/29/395298797/first-listen-royal-thunder-crooked-doors).

Stereogum compared the eleven-song album to Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors, “not just in terms of the emotions inside, but also in terms of songwriting,” while NPR said Crooked Doors is a “a stunning hard-rock record that examines what happens after a breakup of any kind.”  Entertainment Weekly said the album “leans on its substantial pop chops. Tracks like ‘Glow’ are more Heart than Led Zep, which is not a bad thing at all.”  Metal Hammer UK recently nominated the band for “Best Underground Band” in their annual Golden Gods’ Awards.

Crooked Doors was recorded throughout 2014, with principal recording done at Aria Recording Studio in Marietta, GA with producer Joey Jones.  A series of webisodes documenting the recording process have been rolling out over recent weeks with three installments viewable now (https://youtu.be/VKL_3u4-Xq4https://youtu.be/VKL_3u4-Xq4 andhttps://youtu.be/MpYD3rK7ad8).
